MLS Laser Therapy

MLS LaserElite Foot & Ankle is proud to introduce the Multiwave Locked System (MLS) Laser Therapy system to the practice. The MLS Laser Therapy system is actually a combination of two therapeutic lasers. Each of the two lasers have a different wave length. One is a pulsed laser to treat swelling and inflammation, and the other is a continuous laser to treat pain. This is the first system to combine both types of therapeutic laser in one unit. This system is FDA approved for the treatment of various foot & ankle injuries and ailments. Extensive research in prominent institutions around the country including Harvard University has touted its effectiveness in treating pain and inflammation. MLS Laser therapy is commonly used to treat tendon and ligament injuries, muscle strains/sprains/tears, sore muscles and joints, degenerative joint conditions, neurological pain, chronic non-healing wounds, general pain, and other conditions. It is also used for the care of patients who have already undergone surgery and is now recovering from post-operative pain and/or swelling. MLS Laser therapy increases blood flow, increases metabolic activity, accelerates angiogenesis, improves nerve function, reduces fibrous tissue formation, and increases normal cellular activity. The treatment lasts 10-15 minutes for each session and does not require any local anesthesia. Patients are scheduled for 6-12 treatments with 3 treatments per week. The effects of MLS Laser Therapy are cumulative; therefore, you should expect to see improvement as you proceed through your treatment plan.  It is critical that once you start, you complete the course of treatments recommended by Dr. Cheng. Success rates have been reported at between 70 - 90%.  MLS Laser therapy is an effective non-invasive technology to treat foot & ankle injuries. It is also used by professional sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Note: Unfortunately, Insurances and Medicare currently do not cover the cost of MLS Laser therapy. We have priced the sessions very reasonably - less than an office visit
